SEO Consultants in Denver – Is submitting to directories really that good for search engine ranking?
SEO Consultants in Denver – Question:
Hi there, I have been submitting my website to directories, search engines, etc and have seen my link popularity inch up to 416 which I know still isn’t good, but can you give me an idea of how many links I need before I get some sort of web presence? Also, how important is submitting to relevent directories? Thank you !
SEO Consultant Reply:
At least you’ve been indexed, so the engines know you are out there.
Submitting to relevant directories is extremely important for better placement. Make sure you are always linking in the exact same way (i.e. http://www.yoursite.com and http://yoursite.com) If your linking is inconsistent you may end up splitting your link juice and therfore your page rank. Make sure that whenever possible your link’s anchor text includes the keywords. Do a little research with the google keyword tool and find a search with some traffic. If you are not showing up on any searches right now either you are in an extremely competitive market or googlebot is probably having trouble with your site due to title or meta tag issues.

ChgoLake…Basically, to submit your website over directories will give you more chances to be reached. In other words, your presence on the web will be higher and search engines would scan your URLs more often. Just make sure you submit your info in reliable directories…

The value of any advertising scheme is proportional to the square of the number of viewers that see the advertising.
Basically, the more exposure you have the better. It may not directly contribute to a higher search engine ranking (which is related to number of clicks to your website), but it may eventually lead to a higher ranking.
Its worth it to get the exposure.

yes… especially the high PR directories.. you should also make sure your website is SEO optimized (on page) and then work on a link building strategy (offpage SEO)… pay particular interest with anchor text and use the popular socila bookmarking sites too!

Writing articles that are rich in keywords and content is not enough to get your site noticed by the world’s top search engines. To do this, you have to alert the search engines to the existence of your website. This is where web directories come into play.
Submitting your article to websites specializing in article promotion, resulting in your name and website URL appearing on the web will in turn cause more people to link to your website, expanding your site’s popularity and spreading your URL across the internet.
