The answer to this is generally held behind the great Google cloud of secrecy, but some experiential information has oozed out. Suffice it to say that keyword density is important and meaningful. Keyword phrases that naturally fit into a conversational bit of text work well when included and can only help the viewer as well as the engine robots understand the content and context of your material.
Overuse of keywords and keyword phrases frequently causes reader confusion and ultimately leads to lost visitors. And if it is possible to confuse the reader, it is also possible to confuse the search engine robots that are trying to understand your material. A good rule of thumb is then -if it is convenient and clear to utilize some of your keyword phrases within your page content, you can fairly safely do so. However, leading each paragraph with your keyword phrase will probably be counterproductive.
So… here are a few additional quick tips on text composition
Value – Make sure there is a reason for your page, post or article that provides most readers with information they might not have access to or might not have been aware of. A key value point to each article is key to generating repeat viewers and hopefully repeat clients.
Clarity – Composition should be clear with minimal verbiage. This is difficult for me as I am the pre-eminent ‘king’ of the prepositional phrase. Check the verb construction as well… Overuse of the words “is” or “are” usually means there are opportunities to use more descriptive words. Creative but succinct sentence construction also improves clarity for both the reader and the search engine robots.
Reasonable Volume – There appears some reason to believe that page volume is also important. However, make sure your content is meaningful and not a simple repetition of the material contained in the topic sentence. Take a few moments to outline your key points for each page or post before hitting the keyboard.
Again, work in keyword phrases only where appropriate. Opportunities for keyword inclusion might exist in each of these areas. However, be cautious of using the keyword phrases in a manner that seem awkward if you were speaking or reading the text out loud.
